THE ART & PRACTICE OF NATUROPATHIC MEDICINETREAT THE FOREST NOT THE TREE

Naturopathic medicine is a distinct primary healthcare profession, and an approach to treating many health concerns - from pediatric to geriatric, from irritating symptoms to chronic illness and from the physical to the psychological. It is the approach, philosophy and training of Naturopathic Doctors that sets it apart from other forms of health care. Naturopathic medicine emphasizes preventative care with the use of alternative and holistic medicine. It encourages an individuals' inherent self-healing process and works on building up one's own ability to heal and maintain lifelong wellness.
Naturopathic Doctors are true holistic healthcare advocates offering individualized care, supporting each health concern and wellness goal with an approach that is as unique as the individual they work with. Rather than seeing the body as separate systems, they see the body as an interconnected system that should be treated as such. They believes that in order to successfully treat a symptom or condition, you must seek the root cause, remove underlying obstacles, and take into account all facets of a human being including physical, mental, emotional, genetic, environmental, and social.
A Naturopath spends time with their clients, listening to their stories and understanding their health history in order to identify obstacles and effectively address all aspects of care. Katelin uses information from conventional and speciality lab testing plus her client's menstrual cycle charts (if applicable), and a combination of holistic naturopathic modalities including clinical nutrition, botanical medicine, nutraceutical/functional medicine supplements and lifestyle counseling to formulate individualized recommendations. Katelin understands the pressures of modern day society and strives to make the healthcare strategies she recommends practical, accessible, and something that can be integrated long-term for lifelong health and wellness management. She does challenge her clients to push the boundary on their health and wellness journey in order to achieve their best self.
